Clabber girl museum and Dobb's park nature center

We're visiting my husband's brother and sister-in-law in Terre Haute, Indiana.  It's been lots of fun- a real houseful!  Yesterday we took in some local sights:  the Clabber girl museum and Dobb's park nature center.  Ever heard of Clabber girl baking powder?  Believe it or  not, it's made here!  I was hoping for a tour of the factory, but they don't give tours.  Anyway, we had a great time!

Twinkle Toes loved the antique kitchen!

The general store.

And on to the nature center.

Monk and a couple of his cousins checking out the critters.

Touching is encouraged at this kid-friendly place!

And one shot with the cousins.

Today we're off to the Children's Museum in Indianapolis.  I was hoping for a day full of education.  Guess what their special exhibits are?  Star Wars clone wars and Barbie fashion!  Well, at least the kids are super excited :) .

  1. It looks like y'all are having a lot of fun! We always enjoy visiting museums like that.
I am anxious to hear how your first few days of school go. Ours have been chaotic!!

  2. Oh, and I thought about combining the kids' sciences, but Leah has wanted to do the astronomy book for over a year, and Clay has already done that one. Plus the human body one seems a little too hard for a 1st grader Astronomy doesn't seem as long per lesson as HB. I think I will stretch each one into 3-4 days instead of two, about 20-30 min. a day. I think I can do it!!

I'm an on-the-run mom to 6 kids who studied and taught exercise science in a previous life. I love all things running, nutrition, and health-related. I usually run at zero dark thirty in the morning and am often quite hungry before, during, and after my run, but I live a rich, full, blessed life with my children, family, and friends. My faith in God is my anchor, and looking to Him and His promises allows me to live fully even when life circumstances are difficult. While running gives me an appetite, my desire is to hunger and thirst for righteousness more than for physical food.
