Some telling pictures and a quiz to see how well you know me

I noticed that several of you posted on your Superbowl snacks yesterday. Sunday afternoons around our house are pretty low key and I don't usually cook Sunday nights since we eat a big lunch after church. So, while Big D was watching the Superbowl, I was reading, or trying to. I vaguely remember the girls (8 &6) asking me if they could "create" something for a snacky supper, so I said sure. This is what they came up with.

They had 7 of these little creations lined up on the kitchen counter, one for each member of our family. That's pomegranate grape juice in the tumblers. You can tell Twinkle Toes (8) watches a lot of the Food Network. She thought presentation was just as important as taste. And you know what? It tasted pretty darn good. I'm not accustomed to sprinkling sugar and cinnamon on my fruit, but they may be onto something there.
Now for the quiz to see how well you know me. It's a funny thing blogging. In a way, you know me better than most people in my everyday life. Blogging allows me to talk about what I'm interested in, which only those closest to me usually learn. But by its very nature, blogging does not allow us to know one another in lots of everyday details.
So, I thought I'd ask if you can guess which tube of toothpaste is mine and which belongs to my husband? You can tell we're opposites. Which one is mine? Which is Big D's? (Mom, if you know the answer to this, you're not allowed to tell.)

  1. I'm guessing the Crest is yours...it would be mine at my house :)

  2. I think the Colgate is yours. And that dessert looks delicious! What little gourmets you have on your hands. Very impressive.

  3. I'd say the crumpled one is yours, not because I claim to know you well but because when you have lots of children you tend to end up rushing things like brushing your own teeth so you can get into the children's bathroom and supervise their teeth brushing.

Dads/husbands have a little more time to be neat in the bathroom (how many times do they get asked for help when they are in the middle of their ablutions? I know my HB is NEVER disturbed.)

  4. Well I have to say that to "me" your personality seems to be more of the colgate than the crest. But as the woman above this comment said, you are probably too busy with the kids and tasks for the day to keep your toothpaste nice and neat. So that is my way of saying I am riding the fence and can't make my decision. :)
p.s. got the book today! Can't wait!

  5. I don't know if my comment posted so I'll write it again. :) the tubes look identical to mine and my husbands! mine is the messy one and his is perfect - no dents at all!! we used to fight about it but I thought it was the dumbest thing to fight about and we've had our own tubes of toothpaste ever since! if I'm out of toothpaste, he can totally tell if I've used his. :) I'd say yours is the messy one and your hubby keeps his neat. only because we seem to be alike in a lot of things!

  6. I'm going to guess the Colgate is yours. To me you seem to be more left-brained/logical/sequential. :)

  7. My guess is yours is the Crest... only because it is Crest + Whitening, and if you're like me (a coffee lover), you want your teeth as perdy as possible. But that is just a guess.

I share my toothpaste with my husband. Is that gross? I never really thought about having separate toothpaste.

  8. The reason we have separate tubes of toothpaste is because my husband insists. That's right, his is the nice and neat Crest tube and mine doubles as a stress reliever? I don't know what my excuse is. Pretty pathetic, huh? My husband always laughs that normally I'm so organized (his words), but not when it comes to my toothpaste. Hey, I always know where to find it! Thanks for playing along!

I'm an on-the-run mom to 6 kids who studied and taught exercise science in a previous life. I love all things running, nutrition, and health-related. I usually run at zero dark thirty in the morning and am often quite hungry before, during, and after my run, but I live a rich, full, blessed life with my children, family, and friends. My faith in God is my anchor, and looking to Him and His promises allows me to live fully even when life circumstances are difficult. While running gives me an appetite, my desire is to hunger and thirst for righteousness more than for physical food.
