Kindergarten- Prince, 5 years, is our most gregarious child.  He loves being with friends, meeting new people, or even talking with complete strangers.  He's also beginning to show interest in computer games, thanks to his brother.

Showing me his work of art.
Prince is going to half-day Kindergarten at the elementary school in our neighborhood this year.  All of our children have attended Kindergarten there and we've had good experiences with their teachers.  Last year in addition to attending pre-school two mornings a week, Prince and I went through Teach your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons together.  We also enjoyed FIAR volume 1 and got about a third of the way through FIAR volume 2.  When Prince comes home each day this year we'll continue with FIAR volume 2.  He always looks forward to our time reading together- probably because Mom's usually so busy doing school with the big kids.  Prince is just starting to memorize verses and catechism in the first TAG book.  Extracurricular interests include swimming, of course, art, and anything with other kids.

Preschool-  Queen is our two year old going on twenty.  She's quite the character and competent to accomplish most anything she wishes.  She keeps us all laughing.  This is the little girl we didn't know we wanted (when we were finished after four.)  She has truly been a joy to our family every day of her life.  What a blessing!

Playing her own original composition called "Love".
Queen loves reading books.  I have to admit I don't read nearly so much to her as I did to her older siblings.  We've recently started working through Before Five in a Row.  I also bought Laura at Heavenly Homemakers Learn your Letters, Learn to Serve preschool curriculum.  Queen looks forward to learning her letters with her sisters and making a tasty treat to take to someone each week.  (Plus her big sisters are learning to teach.  That's what I call a win-win!)  Queen will attend pre-school two mornings a week and go with us to Community Bible Study on Wednesdays.  She learns verses at CBS and I'm amazed at how much she "catches" at home and in the car (listening to Psalms).

Pre-pre-K-  Calvin, at 10 months, is the youngest member of our homeschool family.  As you can see he's hitting the books already.

Our happy boy.

I'm an on-the-run mom to 6 kids who studied and taught exercise science in a previous life. I love all things running, nutrition, and health-related. I usually run at zero dark thirty in the morning and am often quite hungry before, during, and after my run, but I live a rich, full, blessed life with my children, family, and friends. My faith in God is my anchor, and looking to Him and His promises allows me to live fully even when life circumstances are difficult. While running gives me an appetite, my desire is to hunger and thirst for righteousness more than for physical food.
